What excites me the most about Cybersecurity is using all the fascinating security technologies to fortify a system to prevent and detect cyber attacks. For me, Cybersecurity is more than a career; it is a passion. Reducing cyber attacks would allow the community to save substantially while reinforcing the protection of data its consumers deserve. This program would afford me the freedom to break through socioeconomic barriers that have previously stunted my ability to advance the tech skills necessary to pursue my goals.

I have looked into enrollment into a data analytics or science boot camp numerous times to upskill. I have always reluctantly decided against enrollment due to the prohibitive tuition cost involved.

Data analytics is the tip of the spear for the 21st century. Whether growing a business or advancing a career, if you don't know how to read, interpret, and use the data currently available you're proverbially holding the spear the wrong way.

I’ve applied for this program as one should never stop learning, and I’ve achieved a high level of competency with the available tasks in my current position. What excites me the most about cybersecurity is always having new challenges to overcome, and out-thinking attackers to protect important data or systems.As everything becomes more digital and network enabled, there’s always a new cybersecurity puzzle to solve, learn, and grow from.

My dream has been to work in tech somehow, but my background doesn't qualify me to most tech jobs. Because I pay close attention to detail and can easily find loopholes in rules/policies, the Cybersecurity program allows me to use my skills to help corporations protect their data.

I have always had an interest in cyber ever since I was in elementary, I would always use to play on the computers and take it apart and try to solve as much problems as I could and I even took a lot of basic knowledge courses about cyber.Not that many Black Woman apply for these roles and I want to break the cycle. I also am a big problem solver and always wanted to find a solutionI want to show my mother that I can break barriers and be a great role model to younger girls

I have wanted a career in Cyber for at least 15 years. I have been slowly moving towards that goal and the Cybersecurity program looks to be a great opportunity to reach my goal. Learning how to set up defenses to protect information and data on a deeper level, or finding vulnerabilities in defenses and retrieving data would be exciting to learn about. There are a lot of cyber attacks happening daily and I would like to help protect people and their information.

I'm interested in how the data is put together to create useful skills and knowledge in the Healthcare or business industry. I recently took a Statistics class and found myself intrigued and wanting to learn more.

I love everything about computers and solving problems. I am thirty years old and since I was a kid, I have always had a passion for computers, from the old gateways with dial up to the fast travel internet of today.

Throughout my life, I have always been a technical person. I am the one people in my friends and family come to regarding technical issues they need resolved.

I'm looking to expand my work experience and knowledge to open up more doors to new positions. I'm also interested in the Data Analytics program at Western Governor's University and these credits well help boost me into that program.

I want to increase technical skills, do more with data science in my career

I've always been interested in computers, and have built my families' computers since I was a teen. Getting into Cybersecurity would expand my skillset in the trade and perhaps make me marketable in the IT field. I love finding the flaw and polishing it to perfection. I believe that the world of computers will only become more important as we journey further into the world of robotics, and security in that world will be paramount as automation takes over more of our daily lives.

I applied to this program as a current Fitter/Welder looking for a career change in a massive growing field.

I have always loved computers and video games. As most young people my age, I was drawn in by the games, but have since developed an interest in data analytics since I graduated from college.

Seeing an opportunity like this whilst also having it be a safe space for minorities like me who are trying to get further into the tech field sounded almost too good to be true. The long- term skills and knowledge I could develop with a program like this are what I'm most excited about, the world of technology is constantly advancing and my goal is to grow right along with it.

My goal is to utilize the skills, portfolio, and professional training to successfully complete an apprenticeship and continue in a data science/tech related career. I want to meet as many industry professionals and peers as I can to start building a network.

Since I was a young girl, I always aspired to help people and to leave an impact on the world before I leave. As I got older, I soon realized my love for technology, despite being one of the only girls in many of my classes. I wish to further my knowledge of Cybersecurity to aid me in my future career.

Earlier this year I decided that I wanted to take some different steps with my career. I wanted to try something new, but I wanted it to align with my interests. I put a lot of thought into pinpointing the aspects about my job that I really enjoy.After doing some research and job shadowing, I came across data analytics by chance. I feel it’s a good fit because it combines my interests of problem solving and working with data. As I set out to learn another new skill, I have some of the same feelings of excitement and nervousness as I’ve had when I changed roles over the years. I’m looking forward to the change of pace.

I recently started a new career as a web programmer and currently work for a company focused on environmental, health and safety compliance. In my current role, I am becoming more aware of the high need for security as I learn more about communications and the transfer and storage of information at various points of a process. This has opened my eyes to see how easy it could be for information to be stolen online, and it triggers my curiosity about cybersecurity because I want to know how to protect client’s credentials and data.

I became interested in cyber security about 10 years ago when I found out someone was trying to hack into my home computer. I started researching ways to avoid computer hackers and found out how vulnerable I was to cybercriminals.

I live in Tulsa and wish to put my computer information systems background to make this city a technology hub. My brain loves working with data, spreadsheets, and patterns; I am passionate about technology, statistics, and the data science life cycle."

I currently work in IT and whole- heartedly feel this would accelerate my career path and help tremendously for my career & family. My kids absolutely love computers ever since seeing their dad work with & on them for several years!My career in IT for the last decade has taken me through some amazing companies, learning experiences & most of all, I've met some wonderful people from all walks of life! Although I've been learning and operating in the technology world for approximately 25 years now, if I've learned anything about life, I've learned life is constantly evolving.

I am passionate about computers, the internet, all things electronic. All the other kids played console games, while I played on the computer. I became more interested in how they worked and learned how to maintain and take care of them.

I have chosen the Data Analytics program because I am interested in starting a career in Data Science. I am a very curious person and have dabbled in Excel and SQL.

I have chosen to apply for the Data Analytics program because I want to learn as much as I can about data, and perhaps apply it to my own business or any future endeavors. The skills learned from this program can be applied to any industry, making it very valuable.

I enjoy learning new things, particularly in the technology field. I originally learned about cybersecurity from my son many years ago. Since then, I have taken at least three information technology college courses; that's when I truly started learning and getting interested in the field.My career journey has been somewhat of a struggle because of my educational background. I recently went back to school, over twenty years later, and completed my Bachelor's degree in the spring of 2022.

While I've always appreciated and been adept in the use of PCs and their various types of software as "tools of the trade", I have always wanted the chance to work more directly with computer hardware and software.

I have chosen to apply for the Data Analytics program so that I can gain the required skills and training needed to become a data analyst. I have been interested in data analyst but did not know where to begin.I am grateful for this opportunity. What makes me excited about a career in the data workforce is that I will be able to contribute skills and trainings obtained through Cyber Skills Center to help organizations and businesses make the best decisions possible for the both the organizations and customers.

I have been a technical support rep for a while now. I love helping people and providing support to the patients. I have been working remotely for several years now and find the convenience very suitable for my family life. It took a long time for me to be in a position where I can fully commit to the process. Now, I just need to be able to get my foot in the door. I did not think this was possible without a technical degree. My current role has helped me finally set goals and actually pursue this opportunity.

I have always been excited to learn new skills and have been struggling to find consistent work as of the past few years. Cybersecurity is a widely growing industry so having an opportunity to get an apprenticeship into a major company is an life changing opportunity.

I have chosen cybersecurity because it is a ever evolving field. I have seen what can happen to people who has had their data taken with malicious intent. I just want to be able to help out in the cyberspace. Cybersecurity excites me that you can help and protect others through a computer.

I currently work as a Software Quality Analyst. I work with data in my daily job and would like to advance my career by building on my technical skills. A career in data analytics excites me because data is everywhere.As someone who is analytical, a problem solver, and continuous learner, I want to be able to add my skills to advancing the data driven world that we live in.
